The Sentinel Team
Sentinel is a global collaboration of clinicians, epidemiologists, geneticists, virologists, bioengineers, computer scientists, and public health experts. The program was launched with generous support from a cohort of donors through TED’s Audacious Project, including Flu Lab, the ELMA Foundation, the Skoll Foundation, and Open Philanthropy.

The framework is co-led by Dr. Christian Happi, PhD, Director of ACEGID and Professor of Molecular Biology and Genomics at Redeemer’s University, and Dr. Pardis Sabeti, MD, DPhil, an Institute Member of the Broad Institute, Professor at Harvard University and the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator.

Strong partnerships are a cornerstone to Sentinel’s success, but we know that pandemic prevention cannot be achieved alone. We have focused on building Sentinel in concert with governments, public health agencies, NGOs, academic groups, tech companies, and other related programs, to promote sustainable and resilient innovations and interventions.
